who am i?
Swedish engineering student
My name is Mattias Ramstrand. I’m 24 years old and I’m currently studying Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering at Linköpings University, Sweden. I have completed my bachelor in software engineering and am currently taking one year off before I start my master in the same subject. During my year off I’m working at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) at their printed electronics department. My task at RISE is to develop applications that transfer information via NFC or UHF to various microprocessors in printed electronic inlays.
When I don’t have my focus on education or personal projects, I spend my spare time with all kinds of sports, mostly football and tennis both playing and watching. Liverpool is the team that matters. Welcome to my online portfolio.

Got accepted to a programe during my first year of secondary school to go abroad for two semesters. Even though I had similar courses as back in Sweden, I could not include this year. The biggest reason to go was to improve my spanish speaking abilities.

Aug 2015 - June 2016
Universitat Politecnica de Valencia
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
One year abroad studies. Having 8/10 of my courses in Spanish which is quite the challange.
Companies I had the pleasure to work with.
Self employedJune 16th, 2010
Started my own company with IT-support for individuals at their homes. I helped mostly old people who could not get a long with a computer. I got the idea after helping older relatives of mine. I thought the effort for them to go to the local store and get information was a wee bit to much. I didn't charge much for the service, in my eyes half of the payment was to see people get satisfied and increase their usage with the computer.
TeleperformanceJune 18th, 2012
Worked as an agent to support Tele2 customers with IT questions. Took this job right after secondary school during a summer. The help I gave was given via phone. The clients were usually upset due to their phone is not working correctly. I thought it was interesting and valuable to increase my capability to calm the customer down and work out a solution for a short period of time when your access to body language was stripped off.
Nordic Construction CompanyAugust 20th, 2012
Started as an intern for a four month programme the summer after secondary school. Main task was measurements and calculations on several construction projects. One of them was a windmill farm of 70 wind turbines. I got assigned a mentor during this period. The goal for the internship was to aid the company as well get insight how the life as an engineer is. I really enjoyed this internship which led me to study engineering afterwards. Have had a good connection with the company ever since.
EricssonJune 20th, 2014
Got this internship at Ericsson after the first year of my education. The internship lasted for three months. My main task was to implement a tool for analysis of code coverage on a perl based framework. This tool was implemented in Jenkins. A sidetask I worked with during this internship was to solve tickets made on the framework. The internship gave me better understanding for the programming language Perl, regular expressions and continuous integration.
Nordic Construction CompanyJune 6th, 2015
Went back to NCC to do more calculations and measurements on a road project. The job was located in my hometown which I thought as a bonus. It gave me the chance to play football with my old team and hang out with old friends before the journey to Spain.
Research Institutes of SwedenJune 10th, 2016
Developing android applications whose goal is to send and receive information to microprocessors via NFC or UHF. One project has been with Doctors Without Borders, where we have an inlay attached to their medical packages that measure temperatures. I'm working solo on developing the android application which sends as well as recieve medicine information to the inlay.

"I had Mattias in my course called Project in Software Engineering at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia. He, together with six Spanish people, had the task to build a software application from scratch during a time of four months. Mattias was responsible for the back end development which he successfully completed with high quality. The project was conducted in the Spanish language."
